It snowed on the south end of the Cities for about 1/2 hour. Time to get things going in here.

Nice, I'm jealous.

I pulled out the exhaust plug, greased everything up, put in the spark plugs, and filled her with gas last night. She fired up and ran well considering that it was in the upper 30s for temperature. I'm waiting for that first real snow so that I can rip up and down the street for a few test runs.

Fats and I hit the Zimmerman area today. Good snow in the ditches but and fields but some of the trails were already getting pretty bare. Watch out for the concrete irrigation ditches!

So more snow would certainly be great.

Made it up to Grand Marais last weekend - put on 195 miles.

Sat went from Devils Track lake to the Portage casino - 140 miles round trip. Some sections were good, some were bad. There is a lot of logging this year so roads that usually are not plowed are being plowed this year - have to run the gravel road or ditches - pretty rough.

Sunday had a couple of spare hours before I had to leave so we ran from Devils Track south on the state trail to Lutsen - much better trails that direction but still some thin spots.

There is a really good base present for this time of year, but need more snow to maintain it. Lakes are not safe yet either - as of early last week Gunflint Lake still has open water.

Another 4-5 inches of powder in the Cities today. I would have done some back alley riding today but my choke switch broke off. I hope that one of the part shops is open tomorrow
