I just bought a 93 storm from a friends dad and I want to up grade the rear suspension. I have read all the post on how to do it and have decided on either a xtra-10 or Edge 133/136.(depending on deal). But I'm not sure what years I should look for in a doner sled. Thanks in advance. Kyle.

Xtra 10 121" came out in 96. Not sure of the 136" version, but the GenII SKS and RMK were both using them. Edge came out in it's current form in '01. There were a few '99 and '00, but they're much different. Edge is a 121" only. Polaris hasn't built a factory installed 136" since the Extra (until this new '08 anyway). 133.5" are not Xtra or Edge.

mich i got to get you on one thing cant let you always be the starter one, the xtra 10 came out in 95, it was prototype on the 95 xcr sp 440's. id say with the front suspension you got dont go anything bigger then the xtra 10. the edge sits up so high and with only and standard front suspension the noise would almost be in the ground. i have seen people that have dont it and sometime they drive right into the powder, it kinda funny to see them go over the bars. id say and xtra 10 136 would be great. you can get it on any 97-99 RMK and any 97-02 sks. look on ebay or a swapmeet, you will find one pretty easy. this skid is a great suspension to. i got one on the 98 RMK i had, it was really an 02 sks suspension (they just changed little things over the year but are all almost the same) it rides very well and takes jumps and bumps better then you think.

What if I was to try to put a xtra-10 up front also. Would the edge skid still sit to high. Which brings up another ? :whistling: In the other post that I read it wasn't really clear what years/parts were need to try to swap in a xtra-10 or 12 front set up. I have a machine shop to use so if mod/making pieces is no problem. Michahicks, when you said 136" only in an Extra. Did you mean an XLT.

No, sorry. I was refering to the Xtra-10 suspension. The only 136" Polaris has produced (to date anyway) was using the Xtra-10 platform. If you want to do a 136" Edge, you'll need a set of extensions, usually from TracksUsa. Nothing to be scared of there, they work incredibly well. No known issues.
we just did a 136 xtra 10 swap to a edge with extentions and a big wheel kit.came out awesum.had lots o f help from m hicks.
i still say wtihout an xtra 10 front suspension an edge would sit up way to high in the back, just my thoughts
you cansay what you want but we were just riding the old logging roads up in jackman,me this past weekend.he had no problem running any speed he wanted.that sks 700 stayed right on my ### all day.had no troubles in the corners what so ever.
