Hi I have a 95 XLT special my problem is that all of my lights have a mind of their own! When I start my sled most of the time the light are bright but then they all go dim like I have a bad ground wire. I have checked my grounds and connections and I cant find a problem. Any suggestions?

99% chance it's the wires under the seat going to the taillight. Remove your seat and tank and inspect the wires, I'm sure you'll find a spot where the insulation has been worn through. Easy fix.

I order of likliehood,

1. shorted wire or fault in a load

2. broken or nearly broken wire or poor harness connection

3. lighting coil failing

4. voltage regulator

Well I investigated the problem more deeply today. I removed the seat and found the wires were all flattened but the coductors were not damaged. I discovered the voltage regulator was the culprate. Thanks for the advice.
