Uhg, only 73 miles??? Get some Fitch DropIns for you rtank. I gained 2 miles per gallon using the product and you never have to use fuel stabalizer with them in your tank. My 800 twin gets a solid 12 mpg.
I average around 14-15mpg with my 600sdi, no where near the 20mpg as advertised but much better than a similiar carbed version. I have manage around 20mpg a few times but this was traveling with a large group at around 30mph.
It really depends on the conditions that I'm driving in. In loose snow I'm around 7-10 mpg. If I'm on a nice hard packed trail or something of the like and I don't go to hard on the throttle I can get upwards of 15 mpg.(cdn)
I'm averaging 14 mpg with my 1997 Mach 1. Last year I would average about 9-10 mpg. Only thing I did different this year is add the Fitch Fuel Catalyst drop-ins in my tank. I am also running 89 octane instead of the required 91 that Doo calls for in my sled. I figure that the 10 cents a gallon I am saving more than pays for the FFC, plus I get better mileage.
I have never figured my milage but the guys I ride with one has a 600 HO and the other an 800 HO and I usually dont quite get twice the mileage but about 25-30% better. I usually fill up when they do and they hit E before me. On average if it takes them $20 in gas to top off I can fill up for $13-$15.
Same here Cory, '06 GSX 500SS gets close to 20 mpg (Cdn) I couldn't believe my eyes. Mixture of twisty trail riding and near flat out lake and rail trail. I get about 1/3 better mileage than pals MZX 500 and wifey's '06 550 fan. They put in $30 I put in $20 and I go 95 mph across the lake while they do 80.
I pushed the mach to it's limits yesterday, not by choice though, I planned on filling up at this particular gas station and it was closed!...... I thought it was odd that it would be closed at 7:30pm, but anyways, had to go on to the next. Ended up going 125.3 miles ( 188 km) on a tank, I put 41.5 litres in it...... CLOSE ONE! I was tempted to pull a Kramer and just keep going to see how far I could go.... but I was getting chilled and I still had an 1.5 hr drive home in the truck..
