Full shiftout  question

Every part of the primary and secondary clutch has a effect on how it shift's.

biggest factors;pin wieght=more weight faster shift out,andhelix angles steep angles (50 or so)fast shift, shallow angles(44 or so)fast backshift.of course spring pressures in the primary and secondary do play a part too.

oh ya almost forgot ramp profiles play abig part too.who said clutching was hard?????????????lol

Don't forget about gearing.

I dropped a tooth on top and the belt rode up on the sheave another 1/4''.

Picked up a good 5-8 mph by gearing DOWN.

I think what everyone here is telling you is the system works together as a whole and effects your shift out speed and not one part is independant from the other.

Since your question was on the primary I would have to say ramp profiles have the most stubstancial effect of shift out speed (in the primary) next to springs and weights. You'll find a few threads on TRA ramps here on SW...
