I always thought the higher the octane the slower, less violently it burned. Therfore, if your engine called for min 91 octane and you put in 87 you should keep your thumb off the fipper until you got some premium in there.

Please explain more about not using sunoco 94, and this alcohol % thing. I am not familiar with this, I just ran a tank of 94 through my stock Rev 800 and really don't want to screw things up by using that fuel.
