I just bought a 99 xc 700sp from a friend which has 144 picks, slp single pipe, v force reeds, carb spacers, an almond square primary and hot seat red secondary spring. A few other friends are telling me that I should think about gearing down a tooth, does this sound like a good idea? What I am wondering is if i do this will I have to change the chain length? Also what is the stock tooth count on a 99 700? I guess what I am looking for is others that have 99 700's to step in here and let me know if its worth doing. The sled is primarily a trail machine but it will see an ocasional day at the lake too.
thanks
