With the introduction of the snow pro with the 128" track with 12 to 13 inches wide, we are seeing a change.
Personally, my expectations were to see more trail and performance sleds with the 136" in the 15" width. The Renegade and the SKS are the only ones, with the exception of some smaller cc mountain sleds with Deep Lugs.
I put a 136" x 1 1/2" Camoplast track on my ZRT. I have not had the chance to try it out. I want to put a 1" or a 1 1/4" on instead, still in the 136 length.
It may have been a bad move for the snowmobile industry to make such a bold move to narrower for weight savings, except on the snowcross only sleds. Watch the snocross races, the sleds appear to operate and handle the same as the quad racers.
But, then again, with a winter like this, the track may as well be wheels.
What is the Best All Around Track Size Anyway?
