Hi guys. my dealer has a leftover 07 1000 Renegade. I was really impressed spending time with this sled in the showroom. I didn't know the Renegade was offered with the 1000 SDI. Couldn't believe when I grabbed the front bumper that I could pick the darn thing up to my waist. I'm really considering this for my next sled, even though I was dead set on a 4 stroke the next time around. I like the storage area in the back, elec start and reverse, and the overall feel. Have there been any issues with this sled? What are some owners' likes and dislikes? I've been on Cat all my life, so I have very little knowledge of Doo's problem areas.

Go for the Yammi 4 stroke, 2 strokes will soon be a thing of the past.

Kind of like triples

You will really like that sled Jim... call JT as his dad had an 06 1000 sdi. And if you want even more storage you can get a rack made up for you from snofrog, gives you enough room for a summit bag and a gas caddy.

Thanks guys! The guys over on Doo talk are dogging this sled really bad, so I'm thinking I'll stay away from it.

Was sold on the Yammi 4 strokes when the Attak came out, but now there are more 4 stroker options, and I like that Cat is starting to get serious about them. Now I'd have to lean towards the Jag for that segment, but still considering my options. Will do more looking into the Renegade models in the off season and see what I can come up with.

Jim would take that advice over there with a grain of salt. The plug issue fouling issue was taken car of with updates. Standingman from dootalk put over 8000 miles on his 05 before he rebuilt his engine.
Idooski and I are going to ride the new 1200 4S in a couple of weeks. If you are considering a 4S, I would wait till a season is on this one. I would bet money this one in 2010 will be offered with a supercharger. Its allready quite a few pounds lighter than the other 4S machines and a couple of the 2S.

The guys in that forum don't have much exposure to that engine. You are better off going into the machz forum or the mountain forum. They might be right but the better info is in one of the other 2.. on DT most don't jump between the forums
