I have installed my Lowrance Elite 4 GPS on my snowmobile. I have an older machine without electric start, so needed a DC power source. I found just what I needed at SnoBunje and ordered one. There wasn't really room for even the tiny battery that came with the kit, so I made a battery tray to mount over the brakes. Connection was straight forward, with one side of the harness connecting to the sled and the other connecting to the battery and on to the GPS. The wiring has a diode to tap just a quarter wave of the AC and shouldn't overcharge the battery. I used a coaxial power plug, so I could save having to run wire all up the hood, and it will unplug if I open the hood and not get confused with the visor plug. I mounted the GPS unit and I was done. Ready to ride OFSC trails with maps.
