Well a few years ago a friend dumped these 2 old snowmobile engines off on me for free. One was running but disassembled, the other for parts seized by years of internal rust. So I'm finally finding time to start working on these motors. I don't know what sled the good motor came out of. Here is what the label reads:
Rotax-WERK AG. WELS
Mot. No. 1944510
bore 2x64,5 mm, stroke 61 mm, capac. 399 c.c.
MADE IN AUSTRIA
How can I find out what sled it came from? Knowing what it came from could help me in ordering some parts.
Also, It's been a few long years since high school shop class. Where could I find a good article on rebuilding a snowmobile engine? I know I'm going to need new rings, but hell if I can remember tolerances between pistons, rings, and cylinder walls.
Thanks you very much for any input. If you want I could post some pictures of what I am up against. Heheh.
