Definately use some blue lock tite on the screws that hold the petals in. If one of them come loose, they will get sucked into the engine.

Also, some black RTV where the cyl meets the cage. An air leak there could be bad.

Thats what I was wondering. I am not replacing the pedals. I was just wondering about attaching the reeds to the block...I went ahead and used locktite on the bolts.

If you look at the motor its nearly impossible for the petal screws to come out, But I agree a SMALL amount of loctite should be used. Im not an advocate of RTV on the reed block itself, its rubber. A small amount of grease or vaselene wiped on works good on stuff like that.
