what exactly is R.A.VE. what is it? what does it do? does it add better power?

um .... yes and no! yes it does produce peformance , but the same no..
The RAVE has nothing to do with the term H.O. The rave device is a port with a slide/gilatine thats regulated by eletronic or vacum. What this does is regulate pressure in the cylinders and pipe to make peak hp's through out the powerband .2-stroke motors are basiclly a air pump, if theres to much air going out and not enough coming in it's not producing max power from the motor in mid ranges. 2 stroke mills need backpressure to run.Rave fine tunes this during operation so to say making it be more efficient. DOO started using RAVE in 96 i belive when the mxz was released.

As for the HO term it is somthing differant in motor design to squeeze out more hp from the motor.
Example; the 500ss is really the 600 of the 99-03 era 597 cc (std 600). The600 HO has bigger portting in the cylinders and has a longer stroke that comes in at 594 cc's. By having bigger ports and longer stroke it makes more hp out on the top end vs the old 600.


One thing to remember the RAVE is a serviable part on your sled for peak peformance.
Keeping them clean and making sure the gaskets and o-rings are in good order . This will keep your hp's up from low end through out the powerband. Watch the condition of gaskets when cleaning , the little holes ARE part of the operation of the valve.

did 'nt want you saying you have a HO cause you have RAVE , just trying to help you understand. Im sure your in wow with your zx vs's the ole citation. keep it right side up thats a quick sled you have there :thumbsup:

R.A.V.E..........{ stands for rotax adjustable variable exhaust },,,,,,,R.A.V.E. and it does what the other quote says. to answer the question it ads consistent power thru out exceleration. correct if wrong?....not faster!!!!!!
