Oil Injector Pump On 02 Zr600efi Cc

While trying to inspect the oil injector pump it looked to me like there is some play in the arm that actuates the pump . But how do you get at the bloody thing?? Just trying to see if the nut was snug I dropped my wrench and had to get a friggen magntet to get it back. I read another post that said take the belly pan off but you still can't see much or let alone get your hand in there? the shop manual shows how to adjust it but they show the engine sitting up on a work bench. I'd greatly appreciate any advice. The sled does use to much oil but I don't want to fiddle with it unless I'm sure nothing else is up. Thanks in advance.
