Used to have a 1999 Formula DLX 380 and i loved it. Not a single problem with it and it had decent power. I was younger and smaller when i had it and for me alone it always had enough power unless the slush was over 1 foot deep. For two full sized people it might be a little underpowered. Now on hard pack groomed trails all the time I think you would be ok, but if you ever hit slush or deep snow you would be in trouble.
i think it will be under powered for 2 adults.we have a 700 and a 800 grand touring and imo they are over powered, but the price was right when i bought them.i would say no less then a 500 as you will only find yourself disapointed with it and want to upgrade by the following season.and try to sell that 95 380 good luck you would be stuck with it for sure.the way i look at it sleds depreciate so bad and fast you should get exactly what you want right away.i made that mistake once and will never doo it again.i really didn't want anything as big as what we got but now i am very glad i did.it was the best money i ever spent,do i use all 800 cc not at all but its there if i need it.and the fuel mileage is the same as my buddies 550 fan cooled mxz.i am very very happy with both the sleds we bought.and my wife just loves her 700.
if you don't mind how much are they asking for it? i just got ours recently and i paid 4000 bucks for the pair.so if its more then 1500 bucks i would keep looking.mine are 99's.there are some great deals out there right now in ontario.with the bad season we had i think you will see alot of deals in the next week or so.
i had a 96 formula s 380. It would only do about 60-65 with me at about 210 lbs, on hard packed surface. Not sure how it would do with two adults, but if you are only trail riding and don't have a want or need to do more than 50 it would be fine. Of course this is now coming from a guy that rides an 800
My girlfriend rode it this weekend and she could get going a little quicker, however she only weighs about 120. As far as reliability, fuel, and oil consumption go, it is very good. However I agree with the previous posts that I wouldnt pay more than 1500.00 dollars unless the mileage is very very very low.

WOW thats way to much money.1500 would be a high price in my opinion judging what i just got for $4000.00 in ontario.you can doo much much better then that.here is what i got for 4000 bucks thats 2000 each.2 1999 ski doo grand touring with air ride and they are in mint condition, and i mean mint not a scratch on them.they both have electric start, reverse.the red one is an 800 and the blue a 700.

that is a very good deal you have for the two sled. Mind to tell how to search such deal? thanks.
Reverse is another feature that I love to have.

To get a deal like that you have to be in the right place at the right time and jump on it as soon as you see it. depending on where you are located the bargain hunter, super shopper, and auto trader are all pretty good. I find there are better prices in the first two.
exactly right!!!! i was on one of the ontario sled sites.it was listed and 10 minutes later i scooped them up.but you have to move fast when you see a deal thats forsure.but just be patient as they happen all the time.i was very lucky thats for sure.on my list of wants i wanted electric start, reverse and 2 up seats.i looked and shoped around for about 3 months and i found what i wanted.cash talks forsure lol.happy shopping.
target areas where the snow was weak this year :slick:
david also hit that nail right! i live in mitchell ontario sleds around here are over priced right now as we had a great season.i bought my 2 from belleville ontario which is 5 hours from here.and the couple we bought them from said they had a terrible season and were sick of them just sitting in the garage so they decided to sell.so look in the no snow areas as there are some great deals there forsure.for me it was well worth the drive, even if you have to rent a truck or something for the day if your going to save 1 or 2000 bucks your still way ahead of the game imo.my local dealer looked my new ones over and he figures i saved at least 2500 to 3000 bucks on my 2 going by what he would list them for.but keep looking hard as spring is the best time for a deal.if you wait till the fall you will deffinatly pay more. good luck on your hunt
