I got no pics of my old ones right now but my first sled or log as i called it was a 88 Safari Citation 250, then i had a 93 500 indy, 94 xlt580, i used that for a long time then i got a 01 edgex 600, and now my 01 mxz700, so yes i am a bit of a polaris guy even though i now drive a doo.
The first sled I rode was a early 70s Polaris TX 340 my dads old sled. Then the first sled that was kinda mine was a 94 Jag 440. Then i bought my first sled a used 97 Cougar 550 after a little clutching it was pretty fast. Than I bought my first new sled and current ride a 00 zr500 carb.
My first was a 1968 Ski-doo. My dad actually restored it a few years ago, and it ran like a dream. Then I upgraded to a 1980 Scorpian 440, followed by a 1995 Pantera, and currently a 1999 Grand Touring.
had fun on everyone of them, but it keeps getting better.
my first was an early yammy 292 single, then I got my dads old merc trail twister, then my 80 kaw invader,86 formula mx,then a 98 mxz 500,99 ho 670,00 mxz 700.currently I have the 00mxz(stock),00 mxz700 (clutched and piped), the kaw ,an 87 formula mx(86 for parts),the wifes g.t. 600 01,can't forget the boys 01 mini-z.wish I had the mercs but they are long gone now.
Wow some of you guys have had a real laundry list of sleds. I have only had on other sled a 95 vmax 600. Now I have a 00 ZR 600. And my dream sled is a F7, If I could only get past the wife on that one.
My first sled i really didn't own it thou i was the only one that used it and maintaned it was a 89 jag 440 in the long straights the big sleds would kill me but as soon as the trails got tight the story changed. Also it was fun to pull into a gas station everyone else was on empty while i had a half tank left. My new sled that i bought this last winterr is a 96 zr 580 and man is this thing fast but i now am also filling up at every gas stop.
First new sled was a 88 ski-doo stratos bought it new in 90 still in the crate. Had it until 95 then came my first kid and my toys went bye bye for a few years. This spring i picked up a500 edge left over. got to love those left overs. The first sled that i ever rode was a 72 olympic , then a 74 TNT 340, we also had 75 TNT.First sled that ever scared me was a sno jet thunder jet 440. Can't remember all the mods that had done to it but it was real quick for it's day. We had other sleds to my mom even had a sno prince for a couple of years , it was a pretty good sled until she started letting my older brothers use it. I'll never forgot the look on dads face the day they towed it home and the motor was toasted. Those old sleds weren't the most reliable but they sure put the snowmobileing bug into me and i hope i never lose it.
the first sled i rode was a 1986 indy 400. thought there was nothing better, till i got a '96 ultra, thought that was the ####, then i started having probs w/ it, so i got a '99 500 xc, loved it, bought a 01 mxz 600 2 years after it, love that sled, but it had problems b4 i got it fixed. now i am getting an 03 mxz rev 600ho RER.
Started on 79 kawasaki invader 340, then an 86 indy 400 (they were the family's ) My "1st " sled was indy 500 in 94, then a 96 xcr 600 sp. Then the wife got a 98 indy 500.
Saw the light in 2000 and got a 600 mxz, then moved up to a mxz700 adrenaline in 2002. Just kept trading up along the way.
M first sled was a 72 arctic cat panther in 77'. I then got a 79 jag, 87 jag, any many others inbetwixt. Many old haparral's, a few ski-doo's (still have one) a couple moto-ski's, yamm'ys,a polaris tx's etc... The last few sleds I have had are a 95 arctic cat cougar, 95 zr580, 97zr580, two 96 zrt600's a 99 zrt600 and have an 03 zr900 on order. I think my final count (as of now) is around 127 sleds total.
