they claim the 1st RMK was the 97 Indy 700 RMK

oopsy

they should have check their old brochures :whistling:

96 Ultra RMK,Storm RMK,XLT RMK,Indy 500 RMK

Such a simple mistake yet NO excuse IMO

its was the first real RMK, first relaly set up for the moutain and called just and RMK not an XLT RMK or Storm RMK but you are right they did make them before that. they were 133.5 tracks though

I have to agree with Timespent. Yes, there were RMK decals on sleds prior to 97, but 97 was the first time the model was named RMK.
Same as with the SKS. It used to be the any model was available as an SKS, then they came out with an SKS. Or with Cat, and the old Mountain Cat versions of every sled they used to make, until 95 when they came out with a Powder Special.

But you're right Freeze, it is misleading.

you guys are making excuses

96 RMKs were full models and NOT kits

they also had SKSs in 96

RMK = narrow ski stance, deep lug track, allumium skis and some models had ACCS altitude compensator

I have rags and brochures from 96 with Poo touting these RMKs as more then SKSs

Like I said they want people to forget about their past and only remember want they want you too

I had my Indy 500 then

I wonder in 10 yrs if they will make people forget about the Fuse 900

Thinkin they have that campaign underway now..... :p

Call 'em what you want, but those 3cyl 133.5 sleds were tanks. Still have an Ultra touring riding with us on occasion.

I think they'll mention the IQ 440 racer as the first A-arm sled.
