I'll admit it does look nice but not being a metalurgist myself, would the aluminium not oxidize and go dull after awhile with out a clear coat or some kind of protection???

Ya, I'm sure it will.  It'll just have to be touched up every so often.  

It wasn't that hard to do though so not a big deal.

Here are a few pictures of the sleds I have done so far. The first is a picture of my 2000 T-Cat's tunnel. The second is a picture under the hood of my brothers 2000 MXZ600(the tunnel is also polished). The clutch cover, bumper braces, and the head are polished.

Not the greatest picture, this was after a long ride so it's getting dirty, but it'll show you what the polished tunnels look like.

SWEET!!!  Finished MXZ 700 Special Edition last night, and does it ever look nice on the swow.  I used autosol and applied it twice on each side and three times on the bumper.  Can't wait to get under the hood, hope I can get it done to impress the boys by the weekend.
