I've started my winter fixing's on my sled (alittle late like usual).
Anyways, I pulled the RAVE's off, like I do every year. Except this year their both full of oil?
Is this normal?
Should I adjust something?
Or... is this maybe from the teaspoon of oil I poored into the cylinders before I put her away for the summer?
I did notice last year she was smoking more than usual.

See the pictures I've attached.
My sled: 1996 Formula 583.

Thanks for your help guys.

Last weekend was the first time I have done the Rave Valves myself and when I took them apart they were just like yours, lots of oil. Same thing on both my sleds a 2000 MXZ 700 and a 98 FormulaZ583. Both sleds have not been ran since I fogged the motors in the spring.
Hope this is normal!

I am pretty sure its normal.
I cleaned my Raves on my 99 2 years ago and they were just like that.
I think they tried to fix that problem a bit by putting a liquid sealer in there because I cleaned my Raves on my 01 800 and there was a white gasket like seal in 2 spots inside the caps and no oil in there.

But now I will be getting oil in there because the white seal stuff falls apart when you take apart the Rave.

No big deal.

very normal, nothing to worry about.

Might so that your using a little excess oil, but oil is cheap compared to pistons.
