I have a 2000 zrt 800 and i heard there is a recall on the impulse line to lenghthen it to prevent it from being pinched. Is it true or just talk can any1 tell me,and if its true what would happen if the line was pinched,I have had lots of problems with this sled I melted a hole threw the center piston last year and now like 500 miles later it just siezed up the left and middle pistons would this recall have anything to with this or does anybody have any idea's why this thing keeps blowing up.    Thanks

If the impulse line were getting pinched you would lose the vaccume pule that operates the fuel pump and you would lose fuel pressure and flow to the carbs which could cause it to run lean and take your pistons out,so I would check into this as this could be your main problem.

hi chiefZRT - it is true - here it is:

Arctic Cat ZRT800 & THUNDERCAT '00

Arctic Cat, Inc. has issued a recall for the 2000 ZRT 800 and Thundercat to lengthen the impulse line. The impulse line is a length of hose connecting the crankcase to the fuel pump. Arctic Cat has identified a problem with the current length in which the impulse line can become kinked or pinched. Arctic Cat recommends contacting your local dealer to schedule repairs.

This is from the recalls section of this website.  I am afraid I can't tell you if this is the cause of your problems, but I am sure others will be able to help you.

good luck!

When you found a hole in the centre of the piston, did you check to see if a electrode had fallen out of the spark plug.  I have that happen to me once on a motocross bike.  I can't see the impluse line being pinched the effect on the hole in the top of the piston, but i can see it having a effect on the siezed cylinder.
