Just about to do the top end on my mxz and I have a question about the base gasket. There are a few differents thickness's. Can I tell what I have in there now without taking it apart. Or do I have to take it apart and measure it? Or will it be written on it? Also would there be any benefit to changing the size from whats in there? I always run premium anyways.

Thanks, Dave.

There will be a series of small holes at the rear between the cylinders. 4 holes whould be a .4mm gasket, 5 would be a .5mm and so on. You will have to pull it apart to see them.

Thanks, So much more knowledge than at my dealership. Would anyone know the torque specs for the head and cylinders?

Don't forget to wire brush the bolt threads and chase the holes with a tap for good torque readings.

Thanks Doc. You guys are awsome. The grease and socket trick for the wristpin bearings worked awsome.
