I ride a 2001 ski doo touring 500fan, and over the past year have spent a lot of time fixing issues with it (it was sitting unprotected in a backyard for 5 years). I cleaned the carbs, fixed some electrical contact issues, and redid much of the fuel system. It used to bog down when I went past quarter throttle, but that was fixed when I rebuilt the carbs. However now, when I go past 55-60 mph, the engine revs drop and it barely accelerates, even at WOT. It doesn’t seem to be a fuel issue, since I can climb steep hills at wot, and as long as I don’t go past 55 mph it acts normally and gets full power. It seems almost like a factory included speed limiter. Does anyone have any idea what is causing this/how I could fix it?
