That's a good question. I'm thinking not, but I don't remember if I ever tried it. The older style was fiberglass while the newer ones were polymer of some kind. I know there were subtle differences in the machines in that spread of years. I know I had machines from both eras running at the same time and I don't remember trying a swap but I probably did, consequently my thinking to the negative. If possible, try it before you buy.
ya im not sure i know i got the seat from a newer indy to bolt up so it has some newer features but from what i can tell the trailing arms are different. but the belly has the same shape i wish someone was certain so i could try
