Is it posible to set my 800 twin up, without adding a dollar, to beat a stock Thundercat off the line? And what about if the t cat has a clutch kit?

Hey Big Twin chin up dood try clutching and gearing since there isn't much else you can do with a efi if the t cat is stock you might, might, maybe , pull it off if not you will suprise your buddy and make him scratch his head.As far as the remarks go you are right lack of the white stuff and the warm temps is getting to all of us and making everybody a little touchy,Iknow because I'm guilty of this also.Hopfully 2 feet of the white stuiff falls soon so we can all get off the computer and get on our sleds.Good luck and think snow.

BigTwin, you are absolutely right!  I got a little carried away!  For what it's worth I apologize.  These forums are here to learn, & have fun talking with fellow sledders.  Ask away & modify your sled to the ####!!  It's just my personal opinion & choice not to modify.  That certainly doesn't mean it's the only choice, or the right one!  If I knew how to make a ZR800 faster, I'd help you out.
As far as my first big sled, this is it '97 ZRT800.  Bought it in October & have 391 miles on it so far.  Then all my snow melted.  Guess I'm just a little stressed, I've been sledding for 25 years & I finally buy a good sled & there's no snow.
Keep asking questions & keep learning.  These forums are a great place for that!

Ya big twin I would go with snorat. Try the clutch and gearing idea. Yes the 1000 is big, but it is also heavier. What ever you decide to do, good luck man. You don't have to tell me twice that the no snow fact is starting to get a little carried away.

HELLO THE JOKE IS OVER START SNOWING!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe I was the one who said Cat has the fastest sleds.  With the exception of the ZR6 which Cat has quietly forgotten about in the past years.  Any luck the rumours are true & the ZR6 will be recreated for '03.  But anyway, the ZR5 is the fastest in that class, & the ZR8 is the fastest in that class as well.  Currently Cat doesn't have a 700 so...  Then there's the T-Cat.  I don't care what you disgruntled people say.  Plain & simple it's the fastest in the open class!  So Mtrsprt, I admit the ZR6 comes up a little short, but for the other classes, well what I said was true!
