I need to know the distance from the front mounting bolt to the second bolt on the tunnel of a 1997 V-Max? I am putting this 97 suspension in my 92 V-Max.Anything else I need to know would be greatly appreciated
I would just stick the new suspension in your tunnel and see how it lines up. You might not be able to use any of the existing holes. I would first try to use the existing front mounting holes (if possible) and then drill new rear holes or install a new drop bracket for the rear if they don't line up with the suspension. But you might have to start from scratch. I have done this on 2 of my sleds and it's really no big deal, just make sure you get the geometry right so the track isn't dragging against anything. And of course take extreme measure to make sure you are putting the holes in the exact same places on either side of the tunnel. If you need to put the new holes in a non-reinforced area, well, reinforce it.
