I'll be checking that out personally.

Driving up to Elliot Lake on Thursday, staying at the Fireside Inn that night and coming home on Friday. Should be about an 8 hour drive each way.
What's the Fireside Inn like Icefisherman?

I wonder if they'd notice if I strap my sled on the roof of an Equinox? LOL

Small world Jeff, I'm in North Bay right now, heading to Sudbury tomorrow and Timmins Friday.

Fireside's not too bad. Food's descent, and rooms are clean. Probably your best bet. the only other choice is the Algo Inn in the Mall. Fireside's better though.
And you should strap that sled onto the equinox.... the trails up here are BEAUTIFUL right now! We got a solid 2 foot base, the groomers have been out constantly, and they're calling for more snow tomorrow (a couple of inches of fresh stuff).

LOL, those pics make it very tempting.

I just might have to make it up there when I can drive my own truck and trailer up there.

Sent you a PM Simon.

Thanks for the info IceFisherman.

There definitely is tons of snow in the Elliot Lake area.
And the scenery is amazing.
(All across the north for that matter.)

It was great hooking up with you Simon and having dinner.
I wrote it down and it'll be my turn to buy next time. :christmas:

Hope you had a safe trip home.
The roads from Sudbury to Elliot Lake were pretty thick with slush and slick to boot.
Wasn't bad as long as you stayed in the ruts the trucks were making.

The trip home, other than being long was great.
Sunshine and no problems.
