I have a 91 Indy 500 that will eventually need a new track. I can get a good deal on 1.25 track but I'm wondering if it will fit without any clearance problems, or do I need smaller lugs? Thanks in advance.
If you don't run any studs, you shouldn't have any problems at all. If you want to run studs, you could have a big problem. The studs would hit the front heat exchanger in the tunnel. You have one of those don't you?
I had a 90 indy 500 which I put a 1" full block track on it did touch the top of the tunnel once in a while so i drilled the holes out lower in the front of the tunnel two holes and dropped the rear bolts to the bracket that hugh under the tunnel in the rear. Worked excellent after that no more rubbing noise also had to keep the track tighter due to the sprokets ratchiting on the front drive shaft and slipping on the track.
