Snowmobile.com

VerticalScope Inc. has announced the launch of Snowmobile.com, positioned to become one of the largest and most visited snowmobile enthusiast destination sites on the Internet.

VerticalScope Inc., publisher of Motorcycle.com and more than 100 powersports, auto, sports and technology web sites, today announced the launch of Snowmobile.com, positioned to become one of the largest and most visited snowmobile enthusiast destination sites on the Internet.

The company introduced Jerry Bassett, renowned snowmobile journalist and Snowmobile Hall of Fame writer, as Snowmobile.com Senior Editor. Based in St. Paul, MN, Bassett will use his decades of experience covering snowmobiling in his role as the editorial visionary for Snowmobile.com.

"We are thrilled to be adding Snowmobile.com to our powersports portfolio," says VerticalScope President Rob Laidlaw. "Our experience in digital media and powersports, combined with the editorial excellence of Jerry Bassett, will immediately make Snowmobile.com an authoritative source."

VerticalScope's other powersports properties include Motorcycle.com, the No. 1 motorcycle web site since it was launched in 1994.

"We are confident that Snowmobile.com's blend of top notch editorial content will earn the trust and respect of snowmobile enthusiasts--not just in North America, but everywhere in the world that snowmobiles are enjoyed," says Laidlaw.

Snowmobile.com intends to be the definitive information resource for enthusiasts. Home to machine reviews, performance tests, how-to articles, OEM news, product reviews, trails and events information and a snowmobile specs feature, Snowmobile.com gives consumers all the information they need. The site covers the full spectrum of snow machines, including mountain, performance, touring, trail, utility and youth, with accompanying galleries of photos and video.

Bassett, who founded American Snowmobiler magazine in 1986, has been an award-winning writer, editor and photojournalist for a number of major snowmobiling publications and sites. He will now write exclusively for Snowmobile.com.

"We are very excited to have Jerry on board with us," says Wayne Karl, Editorial Director for VerticalScope. "He has ridden and written about practically every major sled introduction over the last 20 years. His passion and experience in the sport are clearly evident in his work, and readers will enjoy reading him."

Following the example of Motorcycle.com as the 'flagship' of its powersports group, VerticalScope will combine Bassett's expertise, the company's editorial and creative resources and its sales and marketing professionals to make Snowmobile.com a world-class site for enthusiasts.

"Its an exciting opportunity for us and we are looking forward to collaborating closely with our advertisers and industry partners to insure we meet and exceed their expectations in this rapidly changing online space," says Jerry Orban, Vice-President of Business Development. "Our online magazine format and discussion forums create a vibrant marketplace where active consumers can find out about the latest products and services."
