Where I ride, there is 15 miles of frozen river leading on to a lake. The river is maybe 30 yards wide with lots of twists and turns. The first time down the river this year, we ran into 5 different groups of riders. None of them used hand signals once. I used the signal to warn of others behind me and all I got was a wave. The dangerous part of this is that most guys use this trail/river for a race track. Every year you hear of crashes and injuries. Hasn't been a death yet' but it's coming. There is two way traffic on this river but still guys insist on riding the inside of the corner no matter what side it is on. I have had a few close calls with guys going way to fast and on the wrong side. I don't even take the wife and kids down there unless its very early and nobodys out. It's too risky for someone with less expierience. Nobody thinks of what is coming around the corner, coming the other way.
