I'm a bit confused by what's going on with the snowmobile market. On the one hand it seems that "green" is the direction of the future yet every year the biggest machines are outdone by something even bigger. Meanwhile Polaris has dropped two of its smaller fans for the questionable 550 and Arctic Cat appears to to dumping its 370s and 440s - (the smallest Panther next year will top 500 pounds considerably and sport the 570 fan.) The Bearcat line has no fan engines or anything even remotely low in weight.
It appears that we are expected either to drive heavy crotch rockets or even heavier low horsepower "green" 4 strokers which have no purpose as camp rigs (which they sort of replace in speed and horsepower.)
Me thinks that we might be wishing for a few of the "little two-stroke piggies" when the 700/800/900 HP "Hogs" are outlawed in a few years.
