Try hotels in Forest Lake - to the north by 5-10 min.
Cambridge about 20 min.
Ham Lake about 10 min.
Roseville with hotels, food and malls about 10-15 min.

It is off the interstate and is a bear with all the traffic.   last year was my first year and my god it was so cool with a ton of people, products, all the major sled manf as well as the races.  Well worth your time.  It is held sat and sun after the labor day weekend in Sept each year.  Well worth your time and energy.  Book your hotel early as they fill from all the sled heads.  Later - Brazoo

Sugar Daddys is a newer building and looks nicer but the "employes" are not as "freindly" as they are at Kings.

Mxz7 skip the Fishing for one weekend and make it to Haydays, but be sure to bring your walking shoes. I bought a brand new set of C&A skis with 6" carbides and mount kit for 200.00 plus there are somany sleds there for sale and plus all the extras it takes 2 days just to see everything in the swap meet.We usually have everybody split up with lists of what we are looking for and call each other on comunicators if we find something. But I suggest you bring your own food and a grill because the food there sucks and it will brake the bank just for a snack.

We make the trip from Michigan every year, it is well worth it!

Do NOT stay at Hitching Post
in Forrest Lake.  We used to get a couple of rooms there every year.  Last year we made reservations over 6 months ahead of time and they gave the rooms away.  They didn't even call us.  If we hadn't called the Monday before we would have driven out there and been without a place to stay.  We enden up having to stay in Chisago City.
