i have 15/41 gear ratio and can only pull 110mph. my 600 has a 16/39 ratio and can keep up with the 800 would like to go faster with the 800 for lake racing any help please

15/ 41 is insanely low. way to low for the 800, you should be runing something more like 20/40 or 21/40. 15 is morel ike mountains or even lower. id say go to a 19/39 or so, os you dont have to get a new chain

you cant do 110 mph with 15/41... sorry but i have to call bull sh*t on that one...

well then i either cant read three numbers or somebody has lied to me about the gear ratio on it. no matter how you look at it the 800 should do more than 110

then tell me why if i cant do 11o wtih 15/40 ratio why i cant smoke a f1000 off the line they just get me in top end. would not be able to do that with stock 25/40 ratio

If you are looking to make an 800 twin run 110mph or higher, you are looking for somebody that needs to know more than clutching and/or gearing. You either need a magician or a reality check. An 800 twin running over about 105 is doing about as good as it gets. After that, you need to start thinking 800 tripple. The 800 twins are about torque - the kind that feels like you are getting your arms pulled off - not top end. For proof of the difference in power between a 600 and an 800, look at drag strip times. If that doesn't give enough proof, ride one of each. I doubt seriously if you would still be questioning the validity of an 800 after that experience.....
