How many turns from snug should the pilot jet be on a 97 xlt 600?  What is factory idle speed on this sled?

the pilot jets that are inside the carb, the one that you have to remove the bowls on the carbs to get at should be snug, your air screws on the side of the carbs should be one turn out from snug, if you have the bowls off on the carbs you should remove the pilot jets and clean them with a welding torch cleaning rod, because if the pilot jets are plugged which I have seen alot on sleds, It will not idle and possible burn your motor down, the pilot jets feed your motor 10% of its fuel to the motor and if they are plugged its like putting 2-3 jet size smaller main jets in your sled, fan cooled motors have this more so then liquid cooled sleds because the build up alot more moisture in the carbs because of the heating and cooling part is more rapid.
