I have a 1997 ZR440. It has 3800 miles on it.

I noticed this year that it had a low end bog from engagment(5000 rpm) to about 7000 rpm. After 7000 it run real strong.

It has a D&D clutch kit, boyesen reed petals and a tempa-flo.
I removed all of this to see if any of it would cause the problem. They did'nt. I checked cylinder compression. PTO side was low so I put in new rings. Now both cylinders are the same, but still have bog.

I don't know what else to check.
Could it be electrical?
Has anyone else had this problem?

My 98 ZR600 had the same problem until I installed Vforce Reeds.  That really woke the sled up.  Yes, I originally replaced the AC reed petals with Boysen for a cheap fix, but replaced the whole cage with Vforce.

On my 1998 ZR440, the real power doesn't start till 7000rpm.

I find that between 5000 and 7000, it is a little sluggest, but I figure that's the way it is designed.  My ZR440 only has 200 miles on it.
