I own a ZR900 03 and I think I am going to have to gain some weight to pull this beast over when it gets real cold. I was wondering If anyone has broke there pull rope yet when it was cold. I think I will carry an extra one with me to change it if it breaks on the trail. What does it involve to change one? Can I do it on the trail? My buddy has an ZR800 and has already broke two of them(last season).

The pull starts have been recalled for 02........once the sled is warmed up its not that hard of a pull. If it does brake on the trail than start it off the clutch with a rope.

If yours is an early build it may break. I know the late release one have a decompression valve on them in the apv box. Kevin

NOT TRUE sleddinfool...............All ZR900's have decompression valves......Its the early release recoils that have a weak center nut and break off. You might be mistaken because its the Mountain Cat 900's that dont have the valves.
