I was looking at buying a 99 ZRT 800 with 2800 miles on it . I was all set to buy it then the dealer informs me that it is a 900 instead because the previous owner put 900 t cat cyclinders and pistons in it from his previous T cat .And still kept the stock 800 heads.

Would the 800 heads have to be machined  to accept the 900 cyclinders. How reliable would this sled be now with these MODS done to it. I dont want to be driving a time bomb any help would be appreciated thanks

If you want reliability tell the dealer to slap a set of 800 pistons back in and a new head if there were any head mods to the sled(which there very well could be).  If he wants to make a deal, make him work with you for the sale.  If he isn't willing to do that for you, I wouldn't bother dealing with him. Just my opinion...
