some say center to center others say outside to outside.

 

Center to center of the runners, which is why the rev and other bombs are so wide, the precision skis have a set of carbides on the outside of the skis.

 

Ski stance has always been measured from out side carbide to outside carbide. The Rev's really have the same ski stance per say as any other sled if you measure from outside edge of ski to outside edge of ski. With the precision ski there is no carbide in the center. it's pushed to the outside.

 

By the way your 99 had a narrower stance to begin with. It will be a little wider but I know a friend who puts his 02 XC 700 in the back of his s-10 so the Rev should fit.

 

So the REV stance is wider than the ZX ski stance? Anyone Know by how much?

that thought of ski width came to me the other day when i was in the barn and my skis i'm sure are 47" to the outside. same sled as yours.

The Rev will be a couple of inches wider than your 99 MX Z. Doo lists the rev ski stance as 47 in. Doo also lists the over all width at 47.8 in.

 

I think the law, at least here in Mi., limits overall width of the sled to 48". Reason is some of the older sections of trail are only 8' wide. Trails like that would tend to get ugly(er!) with sleds any wider trying to pass in opposite directions. Point is, you should be able to fit any (stock) sled made in your P.U.
